SAM GURNEY
Sam started as a dancer at a young age and travelled around the world competing in many competitions. As an avid reader of novels, short stories and plays, he soon found his way into acting and discovered a love of the theatre. Sam attended KBis Theatre School in Brighton where he studied the performing arts before going on to secure a three-year scholarship at ArtsEd in London.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, he gave up performing for many years, only returning to the arts in 2024 following a relocation to North Devon. Sam has done some film and TV work, but most enjoyed his time in the theatre. Performing roles such as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Thomas Becket in T.S Elliot’s Murder in the Cathedral, Inspector Burford in House Guest; Zorro, in a demonstration of stage combat at The Gardener Arts Centre; and more recently Wadsworth in Barnstaple Musical Comedy & Dramatic Society’s stage version of Clue, directed by none other than Murder We Wrote’s own Chris and Martin Northey-Youngs.
As one of the most recent additions to Murder We Wrote, Sam is loving getting to know our team of fantastically wicked characters and looks forward to committing future criminal acts.
