MARTIN NORTHEY-YOUNGS
Martin started ‘treading the boards’ at an early age, performing in many local productions, singing, dancing, and acting before going off to study at university to gain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Performing Arts from the University of Winchester in 2002.
Martin’s leading roles, include, for Atlantic Coast Theatre, Michael in ‘The Witches of Eastwick’, Tinman in ‘The Wizard of Oz’, Ren in ‘Footloose’, George in ‘The Wedding Singer’, Doody in ‘Grease’ and Franz in ‘Rock of Ages’, and for Barnstaple Musical Comedy & Dramatic Society, Gideon in ‘7 Brides for 7 Brothers’, Lumiere in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Adam in ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’. He has also been part of the company for ‘Legally Blonde’, ‘The Addams Family’, ‘Avenue Q’, ‘Sunset Boulevard’, ‘42nd Street’ and ‘Kinky Boots’. He was Musical Director for three of these productions.
Alongside his husband Chris, Martin created and directed the original productions ‘Murder in Middle Bottom’ and ‘Death in Dallasty’. He was Co-Director with Chris for the BMCDS show, ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ in 2019, which won rave reviews for creating a scary, atmospheric, and original production.
